At the Image Makers Golf Day, photographers showing their competitive streaks is just par for the course. We once again sponsored this annual event in May, seeing 26 members of the professional photography industry battle it out on the fairway. The day serves as a great way for people from the industry to come together, creating a network of photographers and traders from around the UK.
And the winner is…
This year’s winner was award-winning photographer Mark Sloan. As tradition, Mark will now have the honour of organising next year’s tournament, which happens to be the 20th anniversary.
Image Makers Golf Day veteran and the 2017 winner Ray Lowe organised the tournament this year at Hertfordshire Golf Course. He believes the day went down with the guests like a hole-in-one:
“It was a marvellous day, the weather was fabulous, the course played beautifully and there were 26 photographers and their guests playing… We had photographers who travelled from Scotland, Cornwall, Bristol and all around London and the home counties. It’s safe to say a great day was had by all golfers.”
Mark was thrilled to win this year. Having loved what the event stands for and calling it ‘a truly fantastic event that brings photographers and suppliers together from across the country.’ He has already began thinking about what next year’s tournament will have in-store for everyone:
“Having prized the title away from Ray, I’m very happy to be taking on the responsibility of organising next year’s event, details to follow.”
Sponsored by Loxley
We have sponsored this event for eight years now, with Loxley’s Graham once again taking to the course for 18 holes. We love being part of this tournament, alongside members of the industry who go bunkers for golf!
We can’t wait to see what Mark comes up with for 2019 and to find out who’s got the drive to win the tournament.
