We’re now more than halfway through the 2019 Wedding Photographer of the Year competition and so far, the entries have been fantastic!
Round three was all about reportage. We, alongside Photography News magazine and Fujifilm, were looking for your best documentary shot from a wedding day. After receiving over 100 entries into this round, we’re pleased to announce the third winner.
And the winner is…
Congratulations to Oxfordshire-based documentary wedding photographer Stephen Vaughan for this candid shot of three, rather bored looking wedding guests!
Judges adored the honesty of this image. Faye Yerbury described it as ‘an example of spur of and catching a wonderful moment at a wedding. This photographer did not miss the magical moment of the sheer boredom from the elderly guests.’
Last year’s winner Natalie Martin said: “It captures a very real moment that evokes a reaction from me, the viewer, to tell a bit of a story. I like to be able to tell a story from a reportage image and evoke a feeling and I get this from looking at this image.”
What has Stephen won?
Stephen has won a 14×10″ Bellissimo album of his choice and he’s now in the running for overall Wedding Photographer of the Year 2019!
The next winner to be announced will be for round four, the bridal portrait round! Keep an eye on the Loxley Colour blog to discover which talented photographer has won.
