Six months in the works. Four days. 30,000 visitors. A show of epic proportions. And one team… Team Loxley!
With planning for The Photography Show 2017 commencing as early as November ’16 at Loxley HQ, in the blink of an eye it’s been and gone for yet another year.
Well, almost… we’re giving you a unique insight into the work that goes on behind the scenes to bring together our stand for the UK’s biggest photography event.
Our biggest and best stand ever

From Glasgow to the NEC
Short of airlifting the Loxley Colour showroom from Glasgow to Birmingham for four days in March every year, it’s nothing short of a mammoth task to ‘replicate’ this on the road.
Almost half the year in preparation, team members from all departments of the lab involved, the odd person pulling their hair out – and many weeks of worry culminating in four exhausting but exhilarating days.
Led by our lovely and ultra-organised Marketing Manager, Ashley Morrison, Team Loxley spent over 137 days bringing the stand together, pouring their blood, sweat and tears into it. Well, maybe not literally but you get the idea. Our fabulous team were on hand for a chat and to provide advice to everyone who visited us in Birmingham.
From the first step on the stand, you’re surrounded by award-winning products. Bellissimo albums to your left, Framed Prints to your right, and everything else in between including Books, Marketing & Stationery and Giftware. We also dedicated an entire wall to adorn with our collection of impressive Wall Products. (The irony!)
And all this comes before we’ve even touched on the collection of NEW products for 2017 we featured on the stand. If you didn’t get an early preview at the show, you’ll not have long left to wait. Our lips are sealed for the time being but be sure to keep your eye on our blog, social media channels and newsletter for more information in the coming days and weeks.

The People’s Gallery
To welcome guests to The Photography Show, we hosted The People’s Gallery at the welcoming cafe of this year’s event, with a fantastic collection of 20×16″ Alumini Prints on display.
Congratulations go to the winner of this year’s competition, Andy Lyons from Swanage, who scoops the top prize of £100 Loxley Colour lab credit for his winning image, below, as voted for by attendees via The Photography Show app.
Thanks to everyone who entered this year’s People’s Gallery competition.
Congrats to Emily who took ’60 seconds to change her life’
Our congratulations also go to Emily Addis who won the ‘60 Seconds to Change Your Life’ award at The Photography Show.
Entrants were required to submit a 60 second video telling the judging panel why they should win the competition, along with three of their best images. On top of this, entrants had to complete two technical challenges, with the final shortlist of three completing a photo shoot on the live stage at The Photography Show.
Emily scooped an impressive haul of prizes designed to set her on the road to becoming a full-time photographer. Congratulations to Emily once again, from everyone here at Loxley Colour.
