The first big photography show of the year starts this week and we can’t wait to open up our stand to delegates at the Societies’ Convention.

Here’s a quick guide to all the seminars and masterclasses we’re looking forward to this week, plus what you can expect to see at the Loxley Colour stand.


Who to look out for

Looking to be inspired? This collection of talented photographers have got so many amazing masterclasses coming up this week, you’ll find a class here for you. For the past seven weeks we’ve been highlighting these interesting masterclasses and shining the spotlight on the photographers behind them. Learn from the best and leave the Convention with a new burst of creativity.

Annie Armitage:

The Loxley Colour Ambassador and renowned family portrait photographer is back this year with her successful masterclass on in-person sales. Back by popular demand, her masterclass goes through the positive effects in-person sales have in boosting your revenue. Annie will discuss how changing your sales techniques can help you and your clients.

Helen Bartlett:

Helen’s masterclass is all about boosting innovation. Every photographer has struggled creatively at some point in their career, and Helen wants to help delegates get out of that creative rut. With Helen’s wealth of experience in photography, she has created an inspiring masterclass that is sure to give every delegate new ideas.

Helen’s ‘Improving Your Family Photography‘ masterclass is on Wednesday 16th of January.

Julia Boggio:

The London-based family portrait photographer is hosting two masterclasses at this year’s Convention. Learn the basics of a new photography style with her class on pin-up photography or discover new marketing and sales techniques. Julia’s experience in both photography and in marketing means you’ll gain a lot of insight into these two fields with her masterclasses.

Julia’s ‘Getting into Pin-up Photography‘ masterclass is on Wednesday 16th, Her ‘Sales and Marketing for Photographers who Hate Sales and Marketing‘ is on Saturday 19th.

George Fairbairn:

George is hosting two seminars this week. He hopes to show delegates how to make the most from an unusual shoot location. He’ll be sharing some of his own experiences whilst providing some handy tips to create unique photography.

His other masterclass will be about the basics of stop motion animation. George wants to not only teach the business benefits of taking up this craft, but also show that personal projects can be the best source of creativity for photographers.

All Locations are Good Locations‘ is on Friday 18th. George’s other masterclass, ‘Creating Stop Motion‘ will be held on Saturday 19th of January.

Tony Moore:

Leading landscape and architectural photographer Tony Moore will be discussing the ins and outs of Lightroom in his masterclass. He wants to highlight how important it is for photographers to brush up on their editing skills and encourage people to keep learning throughout their career.

Tony’s ‘The Lightroom Landscape‘ will be held on Thursday 17th.

Tigz Rice:

The leading boudoir photographer has got three masterclasses at this year’s Convention. Two focus on retouching, a skill Tigz believes every photographer should have. Her classes will show how to retouch for both boudoir and wedding photography.

Margaret Soraya:

Landscape photographer Margaret Soraya is hosting a masterclass about inspiration this year. She hopes to encourage all styles of photographer to feel motivated and explore what they are passionate about.

Her ‘A Life Less Ordinary doing what You Love‘ masterclass is on Wednesday 16th.
