Portraits of Nepal

Aspiring professional photographer Nathan McNaughton is still studying at university, but he has already been around the world, capturing fascinating travel portrait photography.

His latest series is from his trip to Nepal with the charity Restless Development, which he’s now exhibiting in Kilmarnock until the 18th of May.

Discover the faces of Nepal

While in Nepal working with the young people’s international development charity, Nathan saw it as a great chance to produce a stunning documentary series of portraits for his final project in his studies. Now, he’s displaying the series in his first solo exhibition at the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock.

The Dick Institute regularly promotes the arts and helps aspiring artists and photographers display their work. They have helped Nathan set up this exhibition with funding for his prints.

Nathan’s free ‘Portraits of Nepal’ exhibition is open now, where you’ll see his great work printed on Loxley Colour’s mounted Photographic Prints. He’s thrilled to see his work professionally printed and up on display. He loved shooting this documentary series and considers it some of his favourite work to date:

“I love looking at the eyes of the portraits that I captured. It makes me think about what the people are thinking and what’s happening in their lives.”

With a flourishing career ahead of him, Nathan’s next priority is finishing his final major project for his commercial photography degree. He plans on once again using Loxley Colour to complete his portfolio:

“I love the A3 Gloss prints as they are perfect to go into my portfolio.”
