It’s our bread and butter here at Loxley Colour. Photographic printing has been our speciality for over 30 years! We’ve since expanded our printing capabilities to focus on two popular groups: Photographic or C-Type and Giclée Fine Art.
We’ve already broken down and explained our Giclée printing process in a previous blog article, but now it’s time to talk about our other printing services – Photographic Prints.
What does C-Type mean?
We create photographic prints by exposing our traditional photographic papers to ultra-high resolution RGB lasers. Our prints are created in a controlled chemical process and are then washed to remove any residual chemicals.
Our talented print technicians have created custom ICC profiles for each of our printers and papers to ensure perfect colour accuracy across all our printed products.
There are four papers within our C-Type range, also known as our Photographic collection.
Our Photographic Lustre prints are durable, quality prints on 234gsm Fujifilm paper that are ideal for professional photography prints. This finish has a great density for deep blacks and excellent colour saturation, making it suitable for portrait and commercial photography.
Another option is Photographic Gloss, which is printed on a 246gsm Fujifilm paper. This finish is also great for commercial work, but it’s equally perfect for non-commercial work like weddings and portraiture. Its beautiful glossy finish catches the eye and presents bright colours and deep blacks.
The newest print finish available in our Photographic range is the Velvet finish. This 247gsm Fujifilm paper has a deep matt finish that is perfectly suited to fine art photography, weddings and portraiture. It’s ideal for black and white printing with its stunningly soft texture and deep matt effect.
Suitable for all photography styles, the Photographic Metallic finish is printed on a Kodak 242gsm high gloss paper to create a punchy, bright and eye-catching display to wow and impress clients.

When you’ve selected the perfect print finish but want to offer clients something extra special, our Matted Prints could be the ideal solution! Photo mounts are a recognisable and professional way to display printed images.
